About fifteen years ago something happened that changed my life. I was a college student playing tailback for the football team, but I developed a painful leg condition known as “meralgia paresthetica.” In my case it came on suddenly. The pain in my leg was so intense that I couldn’t run. I was afraid that I’d lose my position on the football team if the disability continued. After going to several Orthopedists and Neurologists they could not find what the problem was. The only options they gave me were physical therapy, painkillers and muscle relaxers or as a last options surgery. I decided against it.
A friend suggested I see a doctor of chiropractic. “A chiropractor?” I said, “Are you crazy?” He explained to me that his whole family uses a doctor of chiropractic regularly for all types of health problems. I wasn’t about to give up the one thing I loved, so I decided to give it a try even though I was still a bit skeptical. The doctor did an exam, took a couple of x-rays, and then showed me my problem. I started care, and I couldn’t believe it, the pain was gone almost immediately and the numbness gradually went way over the next couple of weeks. The funny thing is it actually felt good. Soon after that I noticed my asthma also disappeared. I was so excited, I’m sure you guessed it; I became a Doctor of Chiropractic myself.
I graduated from Life Chiropractic College West in June of 1999. After graduation I moved out to
So in July of 2009 my brother and I joined forces once again at Spine Re-New, the proven postural correction and spinal rehabilitation center.
